We got the garden suite and it had plenty of room. Love the tatami seating area and the bathroom since it has a view of a small walled garden (fake plants but still nice). The fridge for the suite was stocked with beer, juice and water. Towels and pajamas were refreshed each day. The women Onsen had both small indoor and outdoor baths with very clean facilities. The grocery store is across the bridge where you can buy fruits, pre-made meals etc.. The nearest subway was 4 min. away. We were able to take subway/trains to Fushimi Inari, Gion, Nishinki market and bamboo forest without much difficulties.

- The hotel has nice onsens, and what we really appreciated was the laundry facilities. Right next to the baths, there are several washer-dryer machines where you can load your laundry and head to the bath. It’s convenient, quick, and very affordable. The hotel even has an online page where you can monitor your laundry in real-time. - The hotel is within walking distance of a wide range of restaurants and cafes. - Two metro stations are just a few minutes away, making it quick and easy to get around.

Great location in my favorite part of Kyoto. Right on the river. We selected the more expensive river view rooms and it was well worth it. The ability to be guaranteed a great river view, along with the onsen and location, was why I picked this hotel and I was very happy with my choice. The rooms was comfortable and quiet, with a couch at the view end, though not enough storage spade to unpack. Breakfast was very good. I think the Japanese items were better than the Western items.

We stayed in a garden view room, on the forth floor. The room was beautifully designed, very spacious (in Japanese standards). We were somewhat worried that the garden view room will be noisy due to one of the reviews. This was not the case, the room was very quite, and the curtains blocked the light completely. We slept very well :) Our guess is that maybe the reviews that indicated noise were for the ground floor.

Location was great- really close to Sanjo train station so a straight forward and cheap train journey from Osaka. Great location in Kyoto for restaurants, shops and temples. Twin rooms were great, comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. Nice breakfast. Very helpful reception staff. The cool burger restaurant a couple of doors down from the hotel (Up it) was a great hit for a family dinner.
